The DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo printer has been designed to use label rolls rather than sheets. With thermal printing technology, you won’t need ink or toner. Honey, can you grab some more ink cartridges? These are words you will never have to hear, let alone utter, again. They even claim it can print around 71 labels a minute. One thing I noticed was how fast I was able to print my labels. In other words, you won’t be embarrassed to have it sitting out for everyone to see. Although I may never use the word “pretty” when talking about a labeler, this one actually has a clean, professional aesthetic value to it. Why Can’t We Be Friends? Did I mention it works on both Windows and Mac OS X platforms? Looks like we can get along after all. No need to constantly switch out those label rolls. You can double your label capacity for greater labeling and mailing efficiency as this label printer holds two label rolls at once for maximum efficiency. Play with text, images, shapes it’s all here. That’s worth time and money! This labeler has over 40 different sizes and styles of labels and allows you to select from over 60 label layouts. You can even print postage, saving trips to the post office. With the program open, I was able to view more label options than I had ever seen before with “run of the mill” labelers. Address, shipping, file folder, name badge, inventory, barcode, and price tag, just to name a few. Oh, the Options! Having successfully installed my DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo without having to scream in frustration or bury my head in my hands with defeat I was in my own little state of labeler heaven. A few clicks of my mouse and some simple installation steps directed by the included quick start guide was all it took. “Whoa, that was easy” are the very words I uttered as installed the the software to my computer. Having come to grips with the fact that I am not exactly the most technologically savvy individual, Iworried I might have some difficulty even trying to set the thing up let alone getting it to print out a label.ĭesigned for office use, this product claims it can help any office become more efficient, productive and professional. If you’re a gamer, you’ll probably want to make sure to keep your video card drivers updated regularly.Simply Placed was recently asked to review the DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo. Network Card: most likely you’re using some type of onboard card that’s part of the motherboard, and you already grabbed the drivers from there. If you bought a PC, head to their site, if you built one, either go to the motherboard manufacturer’s site for onboard sound, or the sound card manufacturer’s web site otherwise. Sound Card:the native Windows drivers won’t include all the extra sound features like virtual surround, etc.Every installer is different, but in general, you can just run the downloaded driver. If you bought a PC, head to their site, if you built one, go to the motherboard manufacturer’s site. Motherboard/Chipset: you’ll want to make sure to head to the manufacturer’s site and grab their chipset drivers.Even if you aren’t a gamer, make sure you have the real drivers. Video Card: The difference in speed between the generic Windows drivers for your video card and the official NVidia or ATI/AMDdrivers will surprise you.Switching from the built-in Windows drivers for your video card to the official NVidia or ATI/AMD drivers will make a world of difference, and keeping them updated can yield huge speed gains. If you’re trying to eke out every tiny bit of performance out of your system, you should make sure that your video card drivers are updated using the manufacturer’s drivers, and you probably want to upgrade your chipset, networking, and sound card drivers as well. There’s a notable exception to this rule, of course. There’s more chance of breaking something than anything else, so if everything on your PC is working just fine, you can skip the driver updates for the most part. If you’re upgrading from one version of a driver to another version, chances are good that the only things included in those updates are bug fixes for specific scenarios, and maybe some very minor performance increases. If you’re looking for a speed boost, updating your drivers to the latest version isn’t a magical speed enhancement that will suddenly remove the need to upgrade a slow PC. If you’ve got a problem with a device, you should think about upgrading the drivers.
